CHALLENGING OPPORTUNITIES 


The mission of Strengthening Participatory Organization (SPO) is to strengthen and support community organizations and public interest institutions of Pakistan for the benefit of poor and disadvantaged sections of society for sustainable development through a participatory approach.

SPO works nationwide out of seventeen permanent and project offices and has capacitated more than 3000 community organisations and local body institutions, 56 rights-based civil society networks and provided training services to other UN, governmental and non-governmental organisations.

Programme Specialist – Special Projects (Multan, Lahore, Hyderabad, Quetta and Peshawar each )

Reporting to the Regional Head / Regional Manager, s/he will be responsible for implementation of Special Projects in the region and carrying out multiple project activities in the area.

Main activities include: to  manage  project staff teams in achieving the outcome level of programs, to provide program and financial supervision to team, to ensure quality of work in line with the project monitoring frameworks, to ensure all periodical activity reports are being submitted, to develop working linkages with local stakeholders as per the nature and requirement of project.

The prerequisites are a master's degree in a social science subject with at least three years of managing multiple projects including financial matters and donor reporting. In depth understanding of development sector challenges, strong communication skills in English, Urdu and local languages, IT skills including MS-Word and In Page are essential for the job.

Finance Officer- Special Projects (Peshawar, Quetta and Hyderabad each)

Reporting to the Regional Head/Manager, S/he will be responsible for providing support in maintaining and reporting SPO's Accounts in accordance with the compliance mechanisms. S/he will be responsible for preparing budgets and financial reports according to the agreed terms.

The prerequisites are CMA, ACCA or equivalent with at least three years of experience in accounting and financial management in a nonprofit sector. Working knowledge of accounting software, financial reporting and strong communication skills are essential for this job.
